Twenty-one elementary schools and three middle schools from Richardson ISD made the latest U.S. News top-school rankings, with three campuses in the national top 100.

Twenty-four Richardson ISD schools have been recognized in the U.S. News & World Report rankings of top elementary and middle schools, according to the district. Twenty-one of the honorees are elementary campuses and three are middle schools. The ranking reviews more than 107,000 pre-K, elementary and middle schools across the country, so a place on the list is a meaningful mark for a district of Richardson ISD's size.

Three campuses landed in the national top 100: Brentfield Elementary at No. 53, Prairie Creek Elementary at No. 55, and Mohawk Elementary at No. 76. U.S. News's separate Texas elementary listing places Brentfield and Prairie Creek in the same spots, and it ranks Brentfield first among the district's elementary schools.

The full list reaches across the district's neighborhoods and programs. Elementary honorees include Spring Creek, White Rock, Bowie, Canyon Creek, Lake Highlands, Prestonwood, Dartmouth, Moss Haven, Richardson Terrace, Northrich, O. Henry, Yale, Big Springs, Richardson Heights, Jess Harben and Wallace, along with magnet campuses such as Arapaho Classical Magnet and the Math Science Technology Magnet. The middle school honorees are Richardson West Junior High Arts & Technology Magnet, Westwood Junior High: the Math, Science, Leadership Magnet, and Parkhill Junior High.

The recognition comes alongside the district's overall accountability results. The Texas Education Agency gave Richardson ISD a B rating for 2025-26 after three years of C ratings, and 31 of 49 rated campuses earned an A or B. The U.S. News rankings are a separate measure from state ratings, but together they point to a district whose campuses are posting strong results.
