Angel Touch Kitchen, a longtime halal Indonesian mobile kitchen, opens in Plano

Angel Touch Kitchen, a halal Indonesian kitchen that has spent years cooking at festivals, corporate events and private parties across Dallas-Fort Worth, now has a home of its own. The restaurant opens to the public October 29 at 280 Legacy Drive, Suite 300, at the corner of Legacy Drive and Chase Oaks Boulevard in Plano.

Chef and entrepreneur Yenni Haryanti started the business as a catering and mobile operation in 2014. In 2021 it opened a semi-permanent spot inside a Carrollton food court, and Haryanti told Voyage Dallas that the response was so strong the kitchen "sold out in hours." Many of the people who lined up then are likely to recognize the menu, which has stayed the same at the core while the kitchen moves indoors.

A soft opening ran October 19 through 25. Beef rendang, a slow-cooked Indonesian-Malaysian dry curry, sold out two days in a row, and the kitchen has been making fresh batches. Other dishes include ayam goreng kuning, an Indonesian take on fried chicken, ayam woku, kentang balado and es cendol for dessert. Entrées with a side run $14 to $18, and drinks and sweets are $7 to $8.

Starting October 29, the restaurant will be open 12 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 12 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is closed Monday through Wednesday.

Haryanti's social media posts have shown the behind-the-scenes work of running a small food business, from hood cleanings to inspection prep. "We're tired, but grateful to keep doing what we love," the kitchen wrote. Original reporting by CultureMap Dallas.
