Bordeaux & Crème wine and dessert lounge to open this fall at Plano's Legacy North
In Plano, dessert is about to share top billing with the wine list. Bordeaux & Crème, a wine and dessert lounge from founder Shanice Williams, is set to open this fall at The Shops at Legacy North, 5840 Legacy Circle, Suite D165. Its new neighbors will include The Capital Grille and Seasons 52.
Williams says traditional wine bars often treat dessert as an afterthought, so she built Bordeaux & Crème around pairing the two. "Wine and dessert are often treated separately, but they're capable of creating something truly memorable when they're thoughtfully paired," she said in a release quoted by CultureMap Dallas. She says the lounge will offer curated wine flights, house-made desserts and table-side experiences, in a room meant for anything from date nights to celebrations with friends.
The lounge will be small, with seats for about 40 guests. It plans to open with about 30 wines by the glass and bottle, covering sparkling, white, rosé and red, and to add more selections later. The desserts will be made in-house, change with the seasons and be created with pairings in mind. Local Profile reports the opening menu will have six core desserts. One is a signature brûlée cheesecake: vanilla bean crème fraîche cheesecake on a brown butter sablé, finished with a brûléed sugar crust and a clear sugar dome. It will be served with a sweet wine chosen to go with its caramelized flavors.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing lists a roughly $200,000 renovation of the suite. Construction was scheduled to wrap up by mid-November, though Local Profile notes that state filings show projected construction timelines, not confirmed opening dates. Updates will be posted at bordeauxandcreme.com.
