Cookie Society to bring its Texas-sized cookies to McDermott Drive in Allen
The family-founded dessert shop, started in 2020 by Marissa and Jeff Allen, plans to open an Allen location in December.

Allen is getting a new place to pick up dessert. Cookie Society, the gourmet cookie shop founded by Marissa Allen and her husband, retired Houston Texans player Jeff Allen, plans to open a location at 906 W. McDermott Drive, Suite 120, in December, according to Community Impact.

The shop will sell the company's fresh-baked "Texas-sized" cookies. Flavors listed on the business's website include cookies and cream, chocolate chip, salted caramel and frosted oatmeal. Customers can buy cookies in the store, and the business also offers local delivery and nationwide shipping.

The couple started Cookie Society in 2020. A Yahoo profile of the bakeshop says the Allens got the idea after visiting a New York bakery that inspired them to make the "ultimate cookie." Since then the business has opened locations in Frisco, Prosper, Southlake, Addison and Mansfield, according to its website. The company's website also describes Cookie Society as the largest Black-owned cookie brand in Texas.

The Allen shop adds another North Texas location for a homegrown business that has grown steadily across the region. Neighbors can find more details at cookiesociety.com as the December opening gets closer.
