The Bishop Arts favorite held its grand opening Nov. 6 with a seafood-focused Mediterranean menu and a live DJ.

Richardson has a new place to eat on Coit Road. Elia Greek Tavern held its grand opening Nov. 6 at 101 S. Coit Road, bringing its seafood-focused Mediterranean menu to the city for the first time.

The restaurant began as a single location in Bishop Arts in Dallas, where it opened at 205 N. Bishop Ave. in the space formerly occupied by Nora Restaurant and Bar. Its dishes blend Greek and Turkish flavors, and the Richardson menu includes Greek salad, hummus and skewers, along with branzino, seafood orzo and salmon skewers. The Richardson location also adds new menu items alongside the customer favorites from Bishop Arts.

The opening celebration was built for a crowd, with a live DJ and belly dancing on the program. Reservations for the new location opened ahead of the event, with the first tables available Nov. 5, according to a social media announcement from the restaurant.

For Richardson diners, the arrival adds a sit-down option that leans on fresh seafood and shared plates. Details such as hours and the full new menu are available through the restaurant's website, eliagreektaverndallas.com.
