Hayley Izaguirre named educator of the week for work at J.P. Elder Middle School
Hayley Izaguirre is new to Fort Worth ISD, and people at J.P. Elder Middle School say she's already making a difference. The Fort Worth Report picked her as its latest educator of the week.
Izaguirre is a program manager with Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County, and her post is at J.P. Elder Middle School. She isn't a classroom teacher. Her job is helping students and families from inside the school building.
According to the Fort Worth Report's profile, she has made a real impact on her campus even with all the changes going on around her. She has built a solid caseload and is getting to know students and their families. The profile says her work helps build a strong community at the school.
The educator-of-the-week feature puts a spotlight on people who make Tarrant County schools better. Izaguirre's selection is a reminder that this includes the staff who work with students outside the classroom. Many of them, like Izaguirre, come from community partners that work alongside the district.
If you know an educator, counselor, or support staff member who deserves credit, the Fort Worth Report takes nominations for its weekly feature on its website.
