Plano's Jashan Makes the Michelin Guide Less Than a Year After Opening

Jashan, an Indian restaurant in Plano's Legacy North, opened on November 13, 2025. Less than 11 months later, it was named a 2026 Michelin Selected restaurant. The Michelin Guide announced its 2026 Texas selections on Oct. 8, and Jashan was the only new Collin County restaurant added this year.

The Dallas Morning News reported that Jashan is the first Indian restaurant in Dallas-Fort Worth to earn a Michelin nod, and the only Plano restaurant on the 2026 list. It is one of 24 North Texas restaurants on Michelin's Recommended list this year, and one of five newcomers.

Owner Prasanna Singaraju told the Morning News the recognition came as a surprise, though a welcome one. "You work towards something," he said. "You want to do the absolute best you can with guest experience, the food, the quality, the ingredients and everything else."

Jashan is Singaraju's first restaurant. Chefs Ashish Bhasin and Ramesh Thangaraj created the menu, which draws on regional cooking from across India, from Delhi and Lucknow to the coast. The restaurant gets its spices from regions stretching from Kerala to Kashmir, buys produce from nearby farms and has seafood flown in daily. Michelin's inspectors described the restaurant as a contemporary expression of India's royal culinary traditions. They singled out the tomato and raw mango rasam, the long-simmered dal makhani and a mango chutney negroni.

In a social media post, the restaurant said it opened believing that Indian cuisine "deserves to be celebrated for everything it already is." Jashan is at 7401 Lone Star Drive, Suite B120, in Plano.
